Xi'an Third Ring Road System Project, Shaanxi Province, China

The Xi'an Third Ring Road System Project is a major urban development initiative in Shaanxi Province, connecting the key roads of Zhuhong Road, Guang'an Road, and Beichen Avenue, spanning a total length of 14.9 kilometers. As a pivotal infrastructure project under Xi'an’s “Tenth Five-Year Plan,” it was designated as a key construction project for both the provincial and city governments. Additionally, this project was part of a 2003 loan agreement with the Asian Development Bank, marking the first municipal road construction project in China funded by the ADB. The total project budget amounted to ¥8.115 billion RMB.

For this significant project, IEC supplied its Super HDR (High-Damping Rubber) bearings, engineered to achieve a damping ratio of up to 20%. These bearings effectively enhance the seismic performance of the road system, helping to minimize the effects of seismic activity and traffic-induced vibrations. With a contract value approaching ¥20 million RMB, IEC's Super HDR bearings played a crucial role in ensuring the long-term safety, stability, and resilience of the Third Ring Road's infrastructure, contributing to the overall seismic protection of the city’s transportation system.
