The remanufacturing project for retired bearings on the Sutong Yangtze River Bridge totals 613 bearings, including 10 rubber bearings, 143 GPZ pot-type rubber bearings, and 460 spherical bearings (including hyperbolic spherical shock isolation bearings).

The economic benefits of the Sutong Yangtze River Bridge bearing remanufacturing are significant. Through remanufacturing technology, production costs can be substantially reduced, and resources saved. In the bridge approach bearing replacement project, after employing old bearing remanufacturing and performance enhancement techniques, production costs savings can exceed 50%. This indicates that remanufacturing not only helps reduce resource waste but also effectively lowers the overall costs of bridge maintenance and repair.

In terms of environmental protection, bridge bearing remanufacturing also plays a crucial role. By selecting environmentally friendly materials and applying eco-friendly construction techniques, environmental pollution during the construction process can be minimized. During the bearing replacement, low-noise and low-vibration construction methods and equipment are used to reduce the impact on surrounding residents and facilities. Moreover, the recycling of materials from old bearings during remanufacturing also contributes to reduced resource consumption and waste generation, aligning with sustainable development goals.

The remanufacturing of bearings on the Sutong Yangtze River Bridge has also driven technological innovation. In the "Key Technology Research and Demonstration Application for Health Maintenance of Sutong Bridge" project, in-depth research on bridge bearing remanufacturing technology has yielded multiple innovative results. These include the establishment of a complete process flow and quality control indicators for remanufactured bearings and the invention of ultra-high-performance sliding plate materials. These technological innovations not only enhance the performance and lifespan of bearings but also provide technical support and experiential references for the remanufacturing of other bridge bearings.

The remanufacturing of bridge bearings on the Sutong Yangtze River Bridge offers significant economic benefits and environmental protection value while promoting related technological innovation and development. This practice serves as a valuable reference and model for the field of bridge maintenance.
