Pot Bearing
Design Principle
Pot bearings utilize a combination of a steel pot, an elastomeric disc, and a piston plate to accommodate rotational and translational movements in structures. The elastomeric disc behaves like a liquid under compression, evenly distributing loads while allowing flexibility. A brass sealing ring confines the elastomer, and PTFE or UHMWPE sliding materials, paired with stainless steel plates, minimize friction. This innovative design ensures durability, adaptability, and precise load handling
Suitable Applications
Quality&Features
IEC ensures rigorous quality control, adhering to EN1337-5 standards. All bearings undergo Initial Type Testing (ITT) and Factory Production Control (FPC), monitored by independent bodies like TZUS Czech. Tests include vertical load capacities up to 150% of design loads and horizontal load assessments. Advanced facilities with compression-shear testers support precise testing, while a detailed Inspection and Testing Plan (ITP) guarantees consistent production quality
